FALL STATE PICTUERS ARE UP: I posted about 50 pics from this event. The sunlight was good in morning but overcast skies in the afternoon just made for blurry pictures. So I mostly only got AM pictures. Click on the Gallery above to access the pics. or click here

PITCHING AREA and PITCHER PAUSING RULES FOR 2007 : There seems to be a bit of confusion on the new Pitching Area as far as what programs are using it and the pitcher pausing. Let me first set the record straight that we are not using the Pitching Area in the Men's Major, Men's "A" or Youth Programs. As far as the pitcher pausing goes, it is just as it has always been. The pitcher must present the ball in front of his body (for at least one second) in either one or both hands before starting the deliver motions. If he starts say 6 feet back and presents the ball then takes two or three steps forward before releasing the ball he must pause and present the ball again. If he does not do so it is an unfairly delivered pitch. We added the note: All pitching rules that apply to the pitcher's actions before and during the release of the pitch along with the restrictions on height, speed, etc., shall remain the same.

NO ROSTER = NO POINTS RULE: Starting this year (2007 Season), if your team's roster is not online, your team will not receive USSSA points. Any team adding their roster after tournament results have been input, will be awarded points for all of their previous tournaments, the day after their roster has been entered. So if a team adds their roster at 1 PM, their points will be updated/available the next day by 7 AM. The minimum number of active players for Slowpitch is 10.

Additionally, teams can add/remove players from the roster at any time up until their roster is frozen. After that point, moves can still be made but must be approved by Scott.

Finally, teams are expected to print this roster and bring it to every tournament they play, as any roster can be challenged at any time. Teams must submit this roster to the tournament directors at the beginning of every tournament.
