MBCO TOURNEY INFO: First the good news....I expect this to be one of our largest non-NIT events of the year. The ladies from Coors always put on a hell of a show and this weekends tournament shouldn't be any different. If you're nice to her Shelly might even show you how to properly hold a beer.......They'll have full concessions at Grampsas and will be providing FREE COORS for those of you over 21 so don't forget your ID. Provided they have the space and interest they'll be holding a Hammer HR tourney on the small field sometime Saturday as well. Weather is supposed to be outstanding next weekend as well!

Now the bad news....at present there is about 2-4 inches of snow on the fields but with the tournament a week and a half out and expected sunshine I think we're looking at a great softball weekend.

Conference Colorado will be held entirely at Ulysses. CC rules will apply, 70 minutes, 3GG, 2 HR's, 25/20/15 and B spots D 3 to start. I expect CC to be one day. I understand the ladies will be providing those of us up at Ulysses some liquid adult refreshment as well as a thank you for entering......I don't know what the plan is for concessions at Ulysses.

Lower will be held entirely at Tony Grampsas and will feature 55 minutes, 3GG, 5 HR's (due to the smaller fields) 20/15/10 and E and lower teams will get spotted 3 runs by all D teams.

Entry fee is 300.00 plus your 20.00 sanction fee if you haven't done that yet and checks need to be made out to MBCO Softball

BERTHED FROZEN TEAM NOTES: A couple of notes on berthed frozen rosters as questions have come up regarding this weekend from a couple of mens and womens teams.

Berthed teams are frozen and the players on those teams are INELLIGIBLE to play for anybody but the berthed team with the following exception:

Provided I am given notification prior to the tournament being played, players from berthed frozen rosters may play for other teams if that team declares itself a pick up team for the weekend and pays an additional 20.00. In that case the team will not receive any points for the event and must play at the classification of the picked up player.

If a frozen player is picked up and plays without giving me notice before the event is played (that's Friday 5pm in real time) the manager of the team using the player and the individual player will be suspended up to a period of one year.

On the flip side, berthed teams have two options if they're short for a given weekend. Once berthed a team is frozen and permitted four adds to their roster, one of which must be used by July 1st or it's lost. They are also given three drops that may be used by August 20th. A player dropped may not return to the team. A player added may not have played for a team of higher classification in the same year.

You can use your moves to add players you plan to add for the season and play normally or you can play as a pick up team with the same rules as stated above. No points for the event, pay the extra 20.00 and you play at the level of the added player.

Only exception, no pick up teams for NITs, States or Nationals.

If you have any questions, always a good idea to contact me in advance as the teams playing this weekend have done.

If you wait till after the fact there are consequences, they're not all that pleasant and I do have to enforce them, so let's make sure and do this by the book

Thanks
- Scott

NO ROSTER = NO POINTS RULE: Starting this year (2007 Season), if your team's roster is not online, your team will not receive USSSA points. Any team adding their roster after tournament results have been input, will be awarded points for all of their previous tournaments, the day after their roster has been entered. So if a team adds their roster at 1 PM, their points will be updated/available the next day by 7 AM. The minimum number of active players for Slowpitch is 10.

Additionally, teams can add/remove players from the roster at any time up until their roster is frozen. After that point, moves can still be made but must be approved by Scott.

Finally, teams are expected to print this roster and bring it to every tournament they play, as any roster can be challenged at any time. Teams must submit this roster to the tournament directors at the beginning of every tournament.
